Footprints Counseling Services opens in Reno with adult outpatient services. Vitality Center provides adult outpatient services in Reno, Nevada with the opening of Footprints Counseling Services. Recognizing the need for quality outpatient services for adults in Washoe County, Vitality Center has opened Footprints Counseling Services on Terminal Way near the airport. Licensed drug and alcohol counselors are available to work with adults in need of substance abuse treatment services. Pre-treatment is also available in Reno for adults on a waiting list for residential treatment in Elko.

Vitality Unlimited expands into Las Vegas with adult outpatient services. Vitality Unlimited becomes the only statewide agency after expanding adult outpatient services into Las Vegas with a grant from SAPTA. Nevada's Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Agency has awarded a grant to Vitality Unlimited to expand their adult outpatient services into Las Vegas. Vitality is now the only statewide agency in Nevada, according to SAPTA.

First Lady Dawn Gibbons speaks at ACTIONS Nevada's First Lady Dawn Gibbons spoke to the adolescent clients at ACTIONS of Washoe County on April 5th. Her passionate message about drug addiction was delivered to an audience of teens in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse. Vitality Center applauds Mrs. Gibbons efforts in reaching out to our communities in Northern Nevada to educate and create awareness of this crisis. Mrs. Gibbons also brought a recovering addict to share her experiences and success in recovery with the clients and counselors of ACTIONS. All in attendance were touched by the passion and power of these incredible women. The visit was covered by KRNV News Channel 4.

ACTIONS' Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors donate their time and skills following the "Crystal Darkness" documentary film aired on all Northern Nevada TV stations on January 9, 2007. The film focuses on meth addiction and the meth crisis in our communities across the state. A call center has been established following the program for community members in need of help or information to reach a professional by telephone. Counseling and referrals to programs who treat meth addiction problems will be available to callers.

ACTIONS in Reno was featured on KTVN Channel 2 Evening News with Anchor Wendy Damonte on November 21, 2006. A program entitled "Meth in the Family" has been launched by Wendy Damonte, focusing on the meth crisis in our community. One of the recovering adolescents in the ACTIONS program "James" was interviewed about his past, present recovery and hopes for his future success. Clinical Supervisor Tracy Ochsner was included in the interview, discussing the ACTIONS residential treatment program for youth located in Northern Reno.

ACTIONS also received a Commendation from then-Governor Kenny C. Guinn recognizing and encouraging the supporters of ACTIONS to sustain and maintain this vital program for the youth of Nevada.

ACTIONS in Reno has received a Congressional Recognition from Congressman Jim Gibbons, now Governor of Nevada. ACTIONS – Adolescents Committed to Independence, Opportunity and a New Start – is a residential treatment facility in Washoe County for adolescents ages 12 -17 years who are in recovery from drug and/or alcohol abuse. Congressman Gibbons celebrates the opening of the new facility by stating "The service you provide to the youth of our community is truly commendable."
